setting the spark plug gap

2005 Ford F-150 XLT 4.6ltr v8.
what is the best plugs to use and what do i gap then too?

Motorcraft SP493, .054, torque to 28 ft/lb, NO antiseize.

Use a small amount of dielectric grease in the coil boots.

Not to start an argument, but the service manual states to torque to 11 lb-ft.

FAQ 51 and 52. Factory torque spec is too loose, leads to plugs loosening and blowing out, stripping the threads in the head.

That's some good info there. Thanks for the links. I was sceptical at first because 38 seems like a lot for an aluminum head.

You probably have a typo but it's 28, not 38.

Yea, that's probably what it was. Sometimes i type faster than my head thinks. 28 sounds much better than 38 anyways.
