1993 F-150 5.0 low idle/missing

I have a 1993 f-150. When I bought it, it had trouble every now and then accelerating around 30mph and sometimes at 50mph. It felt like it was missing. Just recently, I started it up but it started idling right above 500 rpms and it sounded like it was missing a ton. When I give it gas it does better. I just replaced the fuel filter but it didn't seem to help much. The distrubuter, MAP sensor, and IAC valve have all been replaced withing the last year. Those were the only parts I could find that might be causing this problem. I also changed the plugs and wires a few weeks ago. Any advice?

Thanks, Jedidiah

How many miles on the vehicle? Check the fuel pressure. Do a compression test.

It has 178,000 miles. I'll look into the compression but I'm pretty sure there is compression. I know for sure the fuel line is pressurized.

This has turned out to be a case of plain stupidity. When the old MAP sensor was replaced it was left bolted in and the new on was just sitting there. The other day I took the old one out and bolted the new one down. In doing so I pulled on the vacuum hose causing it to come lose a little. All it took was pushing that back on and my truck is back to normal. :/
