Have a 2004 F150 it was running fine when we turned it off and got back in the same day and cut off like it has rain out of gas Sometime it will fire and acts like it's starving for fuel can hear the pump run. I took the line loose at filter under truck and turn switch on and pump hums but not gas comes out will it come out of the pump is good on this model being it is pressurerized system? Another think can I put a pump on the outside of the tank and it work instead of putting a new one in the tank.

Check the FPDM for corrosion.

 

If the pump is running but ain't pumping, it's either bad or the inlet/outlet is clogged.

Drop the tank (or lift the bed) and fix it. An external pump will not work without some serious McGuyvering.
