I have my 2006 f150 with the 5.4 backed by the automatic. Basically cam phasers went out, starved the engine of oil and siezed it entirely. My question is which engines will swap and with how much work? I have the seized 5.4 so I can carry any parts over I need.
I have the option right now of getting a 2007 4.6 out of a crown victoria but am usure how closely it will bolt up. It does come with wiring harness.

Also. Will any 5.4/4.6 work? Or does it have to be a certain stretch of build year. And will a like model year work from any platform? Ex: car/truck. Etc.

 

You need a 5.4 3 valve out of a 2005 to 2010 F-150/Superduty or a 2005 to 2014 Expedition/Navigator. Anything else is going to be a difficult swap.
