Question ne1 know if i will have trouble with this?

I have a 2001 F 150, ex cab, 5.4L, 4X4 orp, tow pkg, w 3.55 rear gear. I want the exhaust to sound better and get better milage. I was looking at Gibson sport truck catback rear exit and an AIRAID cold air intake kit. Will these items hurt my low end torque. I would like more power, better milage, but dont want to sacrafice low end. After all it is a truck w tow and orp. I dont need it to go fast. I have my 'STANG for that. Please help.

Thanks
Don

dbenney,

. . . you know you are about to get flamed . . . charboiled . . . fried . . . and whatever else they can come up with!

From reading all the posts I can find about the subject, it appears that the best add-on for low end is a cat-back system! As long as you keep that you should not have any problems with a FIPK (or better - an airbox mod).

I started with the FIPK, next will be a Magnaflow cat-back followed by a Superchip. I've read that this set-up should be the best for top-end and low-end!

DBENNEY, just make sure that whatever exhaust you get, is not to open. I decided to make my truck louder and simply cut the muffler out of the system. Sounds great and still not to loud but really effected the low end power of the engine. Thats why I went with a Suppertrapp muffler. It gave me the back-pressure I needed without making it to quite. And it was cheap. Go with a system that gives you adequate back pressure and you shouldn't have any problems. I have heard great things about the performance of the gibson system.

Good luck!
