Help spark plug change gone bad

So i changed my plugs and plug wires on my 1998 f150 4.6 v8 tonight... And not it runs like crap. Rough idle and when i turn off the motor i hear a wheezing sound coming for the engine. I checked the boot and plugs to ensure they were all on and tourqed. The plug are tourqed to 100 lb in. Im at a loss it was idling slightly rough before the change but nothing like this.

Any ideas before i drop money on taking it to a shop would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

The plugs should be torqued to 28 ft.lbs. They will eventually blow out at the torque you used.

Not familiar with your application but are you sure you got the wires on right? Go back and check them.

I have the full set of factory manuals for my 2002 and it does state that the spark plugs should be torqued to 8 ft. lbs. Experience with spark plugs blowing out and torque settings has shown the 28 ft lbs is needed to prevent this.

Update

Ok folks update here.

So i checked and rechecked everything firing order plug tourqe intake system and nothing...

So i go and ask the guys at oriellys and there was an oldtimer that asked me what plug i put in it. When i told him autolites he said get the crap out of it and put motorcraft in.

At this point i am willing to try anything. Low and behold file is smooth and wheezing sound stopped. I will take a longer test drive in the morning but for now it looks like it really was the plugs.

The oldtimer was 100% correct. Autolites in a Triton do not work well.

If you used cheap parts store brand wires, don't expect those to last, Motorcrafts are best.
