Lifter rattle during cold start

Lifter rattle during cold start

I have a 2010 f150 4x4 with the 4.6. When i start engine to go to work the lifters rattle for about 15 seconds then stops. Is this something i should be worried about.

What brand of oil filter are you using and what weight oil?

Valvoline 5w20 oil and a stp oil filter

Get rid of that STP filter and put a Motorcraft on it. It sounds like the anti-drainback valve is stuck open which is common with cheap filters. You can buy Motorcraft filters at Walmart, and they aren't expensive.

I believe the STP filters are made by Fram, which is a terrible filter.
