hi there guys so i have myself a 2013 ford f150 limited model with the optional 6.2 L motor. love my truck lots of power but theres one huge issues, IT CANNOT BURNOUT!!!!!. I have tried everything with this truck to get it to burn the tires over and it just will not do it . even off the line when i try to do a breakburn it will only rev to 2000 RPM and thats it ( and yes i have turned off the traction control and also the advanced trac by holding the button in for 15 secs.) this has been a problem sense the truck was new and it has got annoying . even when i have fun and spank a few hemi rams its a hassle because off the line my truck wont build past 2000 rpm and im left playing catch up to pass untill a 100 kms . im just wondering if there is a ecu issues that limits my truck from going past 2000 rpm at launch or has anyone else had this issue . thanks for your time everyone and any feedback is greatley appericatedd!!!!

 

Sounds like you need a custom tune. Even my 4.6 can light the tire's up if I'm feeling frisky.

 

The computer is programmed to retard the timing at low speed full throttle for emissions. and if it is drive by wire, the computer operates the throttle based on pedal position, rpm, etc. You don't have full control of the throttle....

 

That does sound a bit strange. What rear do you have? I have an '11 Lariat with the 6.2, max tow and 3.73LS rear. Even before I did any mods, I could lite 'em up with a quick thrust on the throttle. Even on a kickdown, like at 30mph or so, she'd drop down to first, spin hard then chirp into second.

 

i have a 3.73 rear end also . my truck has a sct tuner with a custom 91 race tune from MPT performance . i know its not a power issue. i might gave to contact MPT to see if there is anything they can do to help me out with this . thanks for the replys everyone !!
