I have a 2000 F150 5.4l PI head engine that seized from oil starvation, I need some advise on what engines I can swap this one out with, Mine is the Vin L, I have conflicting research showing all Vin L will work, others will not.

Can I use a Vin L from a f-250, excursion or expedition?

Can I use a 5.4l vin L from a 01,02 and 03? Or does it have to be only from the 99 to 01 pi?

I think any 99 or newer PI will work fine. There may be some minor sensor and component differences, but nothing that would be a deal breaker.

 

So there is no worry over the anti vibration crank system in the 02-03 5.4l? I don't know if this even exist seen it on some forum claiming thats why an 02-03 is not compatible.
