5.4L 2003 Engine Stall

I just filled my truck up with gas and when I towed my trailer about an hour away I turned off the engine and it won't restart for about a half an hour. It did it on the way up and then 4 days later when I drove home. I have about 50K miles on it and have only changed the fuel filter once. I am wondering if the gas I got was bad or if the fuel filter needs to be changed. Anybody? Thanks in advance

Just guessing, it may be something electronic that doesn't work when it gets hot. Towing will get everything a little hotter I imagine.
Changing the fuel filter is a good idea I'm sure but I doubt that was the problem. Borrow a gauge and test the fuel pressure.

Where do I test the pressure at? What is the pressure supposed to be?

Here is a good link....

I got 90,000 out of my first(factory) fuel pump.
Only got about 50,000 out of my second.

You test the pressure at the Schrader valve on the fuel rail, it needs to be 28-40 PSI.

Fuel filters need to be changed every 30k.

Fuel pressure is 32 PSI and steady. Is the grinding noise (not really grinding but hard to describe, its the noise I have always heard when turning the key) you hear when you turn the key, the fuel pump pressuring the system?

32 is a little low. Your description of no start is vague Every one is assuming it turns over but will not start. Is that correct? Did you change the filter? I change my filter at no more then 10k and have never had to replace my pump. If you don't do that maintenance that's what kills your pump! When Fuel is cold it thickens and if the filter is clogged thats when you'll have no starts from it.
