Question to MAF or not to MAF??????

That is the question i have....hollow that sucker out or not?????????97 4.6 auto flareside.....

Unless you have it recalibrated don't do it. The gains are not worth the long term risk to the motor.
ProM recalibrates for $85 and they should have the correct curve for your motor combo. www.pro-flow.com

Go to www.flash.net/~rfm2/massair.htm for some info. If you really want performance, get one of ProMs meters, they are the best to my knowledge, however limited it is.

I have carved out my maf and I have not noticed any adverse effects. As a matter of fact I noticed a little improvement in acceleration above 70. But your really not going to notice a couple of horses in a 4800lbs+ vehicle that much anyway. If you want I have some pics of it on my website you can look at. Just my 2 cents.

Look down the spark plug tube to examine the top of the piston, look for carbon deposits. The CATs will be harder to evaluate, but why risk the failure?
