They are your transmission oil cooler and your engine oil cooler which is part of the towing package. The engine oil cooler only comes with the 5.4, the small one is the engine oil cooler and the larger one is the transmission oil cooler.

try this, the big one right in front of the radiator is the for the a/c, and the small black one is most likely for the tranny. Look to see where the lines run to and from.

Thanks LHM and Sycoholic.
So the transmission-oil cooler is part of the towing-package?
What about this towing-package(didn,t know I had one)is it standard with 5.4 XLT?
What else comes with this package?
Engine-oil and transmission-oil coolers and AC-device makes three.I can only see two of them.

No oil cooler. unless you or a previous owner had one installed, just A/C and tranny cooler. From what I can make out from your picture you have a receiver hitch mounted below your rear bumper. Ther should also be a plug recepticle just to the left of hitch. These are part a towing package, along with tranny cooler and probably a few other odds and ends.
ok ps398 thanks
The hitch itself,is it part of the towingpackage?
My dealer charged me +-750 US Dollars for it.(Only the hitch I mean)
A few modifications had to be be done.

The small radiator on the passenger side is the automatic transmission fluid cooler. The one on the driver's side is the powersteering fluid cooler. The 5.4L engine with the tow package has the oil cooler under the engine at the oil filter. This one uses water from the radiator.
I stand corrected, I will have to look for the engine oil cooler tomorrow.

Towing package includes:
Frame mounted hitch
Engine oil cooler
Tranny oil cooler
Heavy duty alt
Heavy duty batt
On the year 2000 trucks there are actually 4
coolers, The two you can see in front are the engine oil, and the tranny oil, Looking through the grill, the big fins you see is the ac cooler which takes up all the space in front of the radiator. The power steering is only two rows big and you can't see it by looking in the front.

I thought I was right about the tranny cooler and engine oil cooler being visible between the grille and bumper. I thought I had traced the lines from the small cooler, to see where they went, but I was not sure and it was too cold outside to go and check. When you refer to the A/C cooler, do you mean the A/C Condenser?

Well on my truck which is a 2000, if you look between the grille and the front bumper you can see two coolers side by side. The large one is for the tranny and the small one is for the engine. If you have a 4.6 and the towing package there is no engine oil cooler. I ordered my truck with the towing package and I am the first and only owner so the engine oil cooler was installed at the factory.

At least in 97, the tranny cooler was the only cooler you got with the tow pack in a 4.6L.
