Check engine light was on, it threw codes for cylinder head temp sensor.
I had that replaced today, buttoned it back up, and now when I start it, the temp gauge reads the normal engine temp for about 30sec and then goes all the way to the left (cold) and the "check gauges" warning comes on

Any idea what causes this??

No, I checked it several times and saw that no one responded so I had the sensor replaced anyway.
