Very Very Interesting!!!!!
Not bad.

Black 2000 SC short-box XLT. 4.2 V-6, 5-speed, 3.55 Limited Slip. Side steps, CD, remote entry, factory box liner. My add-ons: Older Windstar (driver's side) wiper blade - the one with the air scoop, because I don't slow down when it rains; "f150online" sticker and snazzy Tweetie Bird floor mats.
My second of the "new" F150s. Great trucks!

A heavy duty pickup what a concept. Must be a market for them I guess. Oh yeah, FORD has already been making them so has Dodge I think. Once again a day late and a dollar short. Must have take GM a few years to research to see if there was a market for such a thing. Decent looking truck though.

Hello all.. here is my .02 on this:
I work as a landscape photographer part time which requires that I travel all over the western states every year from early spring to late fall to visit our scenic national parks and wilderness lands, etc. It has been my experience in my travels that LITERALLY every other truck on the road is a Ford truck ... mainly Super Duty's. From Denver to Seattle, Phoenix to Boise , Jackson to Kalispell ... the roads and interstates are full of F250's and F350's. Ranchers pulling cattle and horses, retirees pulling 5th wheels, suped-up 4x4's in the Rockies and Cascades, and every day truck folks are driving Fords!! It's unbelievable. In fact, a friend of mine who travels with me (he has never owned a truck) just bought an F250 PSD CrewCab because he could not believe the number of these trucks on the road!! My guess is that GM noticed as well!!!
The fact that GM is introducing a new line of HD trucks (and they do look promising ... especially their new Isuzu?/GM diesels)reminds me of another comparison ... just as there are Ford people and there are GM people, so there are Canon people and Nikon people in the professional photo world. I use only Nikon eqiupment because in my opinion (and that of the majority of pro's) their cameras are patently superior to any other 35mm's available. Period. However, Canon, in their quest to keep up with Nikon, will come out with a new pro camera every few years with all sorts of new bells and whistles. They will tout these new features up and down. Nikon, on the other hand, will release a new pro body every 5 years or so. They wait to evaluate new technology, gather extensive feedback from professional users, and then release a new pro camera (e.g. the F5) that is so superior in durability, focusing and metering that the used market usually becomes saturated immediately with Canon equipment!!! Take it for what its worth...
And watch out for the new International/Navistar PSD's due out in the 2002/3 model year for Ford SuperDutys. 6.0 liter, direct injection supercharged... 350HP/500ft/pds torque.
Also look for a 4.7 liter 6 cylinder PSD for the light duty's as well.....

I'm sorry, but IMHO, those are two of the ugliest trucks I've ever seen. Especially the red one.
Take care,

It's a chevy Super Duty. How cheesy. I've been told the SD's front end looks similar to a Dodge, but the Chevy looks exactly like the Ford, save for the ugly grille. They can copy the lines, but they can't copy the quality!!
