2000 5.4L runs better cold than hot...?
I don't know if this is typical or not, but my 5.4 runs a lot crisper when its cold (right after startup) than when its all warmed up. Its top end (HP) output seems to be about the same, but down low there seems to be a lot more torque when she's cold... Do any of you guys experience this..?

Most vehicles do. My truck runs much better..as far as having more power/better low end acceleration... when the engine is cold and also during the colder winter months than in the hot summers.
Cold air has many more compact molecules per cubic meter than warm air and will provide a bit more power in most cases. The cooler you can keep the air flowing into your throttle body, the crisper the engine will run....up to a point.

Even though some engines run better cold, you might want to change the air induction system so it gets more cold air past the throttle plates. A lower restricted air filter system will help to increase the power as will a less restrictive cat back exhaust system, a power chip for the computer, smaller pulleys for the accessories on the engine and synthetic oil.
