Looking to install a catch can.
Looking to install a catch can.
I have been doing some searching but really haven't found what I'm looking for. I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction as far as buying and installing a catch can on my 07 f150 5.4.
Thanks in advance ce for the help

PS - IIRC, the 5.4 3V's have integrated non-serviceable PCV built into the valve cover.....

04-10 3V 5.4s don't have real PCV valves, that's what the wonderful VCT system is for.
People are putting catch cans on the new 5.0s, if that's what you've been seeing. Without a SC, I don't think I've seen anyone put one on a stock 5.4. But it's not like I'm paying particular attention to this.

The folks who have the 5.7 Dodge Hemi and beat them a lot put catch cans on them. I don't drive so fast any more and I've never had to put one on my engine. I do not have one on my 2V 5.4 truck and don't need one.
To my understanding, Variable Cam Timing helped reduce the need for a true PCV, making the "PCV" on the 3V do less overall "work," because VCT helps provide better/more complete/more efficient combustion.
