need help with 2013 fx4 f150 5.0

well I got stuck in salt water while fishing for over 24hrs before I was pulled out but my battery ended up dying an now my truck is not the same at all it doesn't shift right there's no power at all it's hard going up hills an I changed the transmission oil an engine oil an filter an new battery an I alternator an starter but still no power at all an as I let off the pedal the truck will jump sometimes ( I broke my fence because of it now ) an the fuses are all fine an the water didn't go past the bumpers but I was bottomed out an I also have horrible gas mileage. I changed the air filter also an fuel filter an switched fuels an did the battery relearn process, it helped out but still no power an my dash says hill decent fault, service advance track, battery low, orange tool sign, but when I put the truck in 4high it has all the power I need like nothing happened an in 4low any ideas on how I can fix all this? besides going to the dealer

I would guess that salt water has seeped into one or more of the plugs in the wire harness and corroded. I would stop throwing parts at it and take it to the dealer since it is under warranty. Until the codes are read everything is speculation.

I would not wait a month to have this checked out and I certainly would not be driving it with the problems you are having but it is your truck.

Hi xursgodd,

As others have suggested, it's time to get this in front of your dealership; they'll be in the best position to get this sorted out. Let us know how things go. I'll hang around this thread in case you need my help.

well I took my truck to the dealership it took a week for them to fix it.
at first the truck was putting out so many error codes they didn't know what to do or where to start, but ended up only needed to replace my alternator an a tiny wire, plus flash my computer.
ford does Not cover off-road damage at all so my bill was just over a grand but since my sister works there along with her boy friend I got a discount an payed just over 700.
but it pisses me off my warrenty didn't cover it do they expect you not to ever go off road, that's just not cool

There's a difference between going off road and taking a bath in salt water.

Soaking yer truck like a pickle isn't going to be covered by any warranty on this planet.

BTW - yer woes are not over. You need fluid changes in the diffs, at the very least.

Submersion is insidious - in saltwater it can be fatal.

yeah salt water is hell but it's all we have in south Texas. if you wanna get to the really good spots.
99% of the time your going to have to crawl or just gun it through salty soft sand an water.
Now going to certain spots I have a buddy with his 4x4 also, an walk the paths first.
I was just mad but I'm over it.
All the fluids were changed as soon as I got pulled out an got home, after cleaning the truck.
thank you everyone 😃

Warranty is for a manufacture defect not operator error.
