Thumbs up 100,000 yesterday

I flipped over to 100,ooo miles this weekend and still have no problems to complain about. Running Valvoline 5w30 and don't find it noticeably low at 3000 mile changes. The tranny shifts as firm as ever. Never heard this "Piston Slap". Only problems were a bad voltage regulator and leaky rear Diff. pan, both at about 60,000 and both easily resolved, Oh yeah and these damn re-occuring door cracks(hope I can get the dealer to fix them for the third time out of warranty).
I don't feel I have taken it especially easy on my truck, (I have cab dents on both corners) yet I do baby it and take regular maintenance to the extreme but I enjoy it.
I just thought I'd trow out this positive note, and I hope everyone else has equally pleasent 100,000 and I hope to have similar comments after my next 100,000.
Good Luck

I'm working on the 150000 milestone

Right now I just turned 129055 to be exact. I bought the truck with 86600 on so it was no time to the 100k mark. My truck is doing fine and runs strong as ever. All I have ever done is regular maintence and a change of plugs and wires at around 108K. No major problems as of yet, knock on wood, truck still seems to run as strong as ever. I have rode with other friends in newer models and mine runs juat as well. So I'd say for a total redesign truck in my case I have come out on top.

Thumbs up

Congrats on the 100,000 mile stone I see you said you use 5wx30 Valveoline and no problems doing so that is good to hear as I use the same oil in my truck and have it change around 3000 miles intervals. My truck has 38600 plus miles on it and it ain't 2 years old yet it has a build date of 9/25/99 and I drove it off the lot on 11/12/99 so by the time I have it 2 years it will have over 40,000 on it.

Congrats! Glad to see someone is having good luck.
Bought my 91 in 95 and have 140 something on it and have spent just over $4k on repairs and maint. It seems to go in spurts, run fine for a year then down every week or so for a month or two. I still like it though.

I see your from Kentucky as well. Just where is Big hill, KY. Thought I had been almost everywhere in KY, guess not. Glad you still like Ford even if you have had a few problems. I think you can get a good one or a lemon in no matter what you buy. C-ya later man.

Big Hill is about 10 miles south of Berea or 10 miles north of Mount Vernon. Your right about the lemon thing but I have learned the hard way, I will never buy a new vehickle againg. Id rather spend a few thousand dollars fixin up an older one. It would be a better vehickle and you don't have a payment.
