Hi Dondo7,

I think it was three days for me. The dealer ordered the motor the next day after diagnosis.

My engine took about a week to come in. Went to the dealer to look at it last night. As has been reported by other '99 F150 members, my replacement engine is also a 2000 series 5.4, brand new with the plastic intake. My god, it just looks impressively massive sitting on the shop floor all by itself !! I actually touched it, ran my fingers all over it's sensual....oops, I better stop ;-)

Taking "Big Blue" in Monday evening for the replacement operation.....

Question

My truck was diagnosed yesterday and the engine ordered. I'll let you know how long it takes. My service advisor estimated a week or less. Nice thing is that the Windsor plant is a stones throw from Detroit!

99' piston slappin' 5.4L, Deep Wedgewood w/Harvest Gold Lariat S/C, 4x4,ORP, 3.73. Extras: cab steps, LeBra snapless tonneau, remote start, Gibson dual sport, K&N FIPK on backorder(is it compatible w/00' engine?).

Mine took 3 days after the dealer diagnosed it. I went in and examined the remanufactured engine when it arrived. It was pefectly clean.
My exhaust now pops like mad when warming up and cooling down. Anyone have any comments on that?

Lucky guys! Dealer confirmed that I needed a new engine back in late October. They can't even order one until after January 2000. There are no cores for a FQR rebuild and no new V10's are available either!
