Cool What about Supercharged too ...

Droopy88, putting a V-10 in an F-150 is very possible. Actually it has already been done BUT they are not currently in any of the public's hands unless someone has done one themselves. Neal & I went to the Autorama in Detroit back in February. We were talking to one of the SVT guys there, posing this very question. Although he was very cautious on his exact wording reguarding this topic he said that there was a few running around in Detroit under Ford Exec's hands. We have also heard that a couple if not all of them were supercharged. The V-10's will fit nicely in the engine bays when you take the stock fan off and go with electric fans, there would be some minor lengthing of hoses, lines, etc. but this is all done on any type of big swap. You may even have to put the fans on the front side of the radiator depending upon the room that you would have at the front of the motor. Yes, there also the massaging of the firewall trick but I would rather just drop it in the same mounts as the 5.4L or close to them. Let us know if you should end up going ahead with this idea.

Have Fun & Keep on Truckin'

Physically swapping the two engines would be the easy part (you would most likely have to fabricate new motor mounts and have an appropriate driveshaft and exhaust system custom made - those are a few of the concerns off the top of my head...there are countless others to consider). Getting the wiring and computer to work correctly would be more difficult. A stock V10 processor is set up to work with a 4R100 trans and is integrated into the body harness of a Superduty. You would need the correct trans and all the wiring diagrams for both your truck and the V10 application in the vehicle the new engine came out of.

If you really want to tackle this project, your best bet would be to find a wrecked Superduty with a 2WD V10 in it and use it as a donor vehicle. You will still have to contend with differences in the wiring harnesses and will have to completely pin it out in order to avoid any problems (you don't want the truck to go up in smoke the first time you turn the key). My suggestion would be to save yourself the time and headaches and install an aftermarket blower kit on your current engine. You'll spend a lot less money and go faster in the end. Good luck with whatever route you choose.
