Gas to Diesel Swap

I have a '93 f150 w/351 Windsor. I would like to put a rebuilt 7.3 turbo diesel in it. Crazy? Is it even feasible and is it going to be too costly. The tranny is stock electronic od. I haven't begun the project so al input would be appreciated.

You would proabaly need all the front end components out of a 250/350 that had a diesel in it, just for weight's sake. The tranny would need to be swapped out becuase I doubt the tranny you have now will mate up to a 7.3. I think you would be better off buying a 7.3l truck and rebuilidng the engine....

You're going to have to have a lot of custom fab work done. Engine mounts, all that good stuff. You're also going to have to swap the whole drivetrain, you won't be able to leave anything stock.

Or find a wrecked 7.3 F250/350 and swap your body over

About the best course of action, since you really do need the while driveline behind the 7.3L all the way back to the rear axle to make this work.

Otherwise, you're stuck with a 1/2-ton truck with four cylinder Ranger-like towing capacity due to all the diesel drivetrain weight.
