Unhappy Engine goes dead will driving

My son has a '99 F-150,2WD,automatic,small V8
which has gone dead while driving several
times and once while idleing in Park. No
warning just cuts off just like you turned
off the ignition. Dealer cannot duplicate
and finds no codes. Any help appreciated

I would look for lose connections first. Start truck and start messing with the wiring under the hood and see if does the same thing. If not change the fuel filter sometimes they plug and then clear after engine dies.

I had the problem on my '98 4.6, I changed the fuel filter and it never stalled again

It's a longshot but I had the exact same thing years ago in a Torino I owned. Just died for no apparent reason. Finally tracked it down to a connector where the electrical where the wiring went through the firewall. One pin was bent inside the connector on the engine side and I'm guessing it was either shorting or breaking connection at times. Straightened it out and put it back together and ran it for 3 or 4 years till I traded it.
