Hey everyone. I am soon going to be tearing into the cam phaser project, and had a few questions. My truck is making a rattling sound, very very similar to the sound the timing chain makes at first on cold start ups, but it's doing while driving. It just started this tonight. And I was wondering if that's the phaser going out, or if the timing chain and tensioners need to be replaced. I don't want to do something if it doesn't need it, but I also don't want to have to be back in this engine any sooner than I have to as well. So any insight is welcomed. Thanks guys.

I figured as much. What about VCT solenoids and Cam position sensors as well?
