F-250 Gas Fueling Problem

When fueling my 2006 F-250 with less than 1/4 tank of fuel, the first eight gallons pumped even at the minimum flow rate causes the nozzle valve to trip off. After the pump shuts off, I wait at least five seconds before pumping to allow the corn bubbles to settle. After the first eight gallons pumped, it will fill at the fasted rate to full without tripping off the pump. It takes fifteen minutes to tank up. This occurs at any gas station. There in no visible problem with the filler neck or vent tube. Would ethanol gas bubbling cause this much trouble?

Both my 2003 and 2006 SD did the same thing. The forums I was on at the time had many owners complain about this same issue. Never got a fix for it..........

I removed the black 2"x2"x10" fuel tank vent canister located above the spare tire. It had lots of dust in it. I cleaned it with compressed air. It refuels much better now. It still clicked off a few times. I will remove the canister again, rinse and dry to be sure it is clear of all debris.
