Guys...guys...guys...enough with the testosterone. Afterall, is there REALLY any difference between Ford and Ch*vy (can't bring myself to say it let alone type it) when it all comes down to it? The only difference is that you get what you pay for. And for what you pay, Ford is an overall better truck. Those of us who are Fresh Air Inspectors for a living; sorry, I mean who are riding the Government Gravy Train (as the Sweety's profile so quailtly states) all day, can afford to pay for overpriced garbage. I would love to "pull 'em out and lay 'em on the table" with you so we could measure, but 99% of the unbias, non-partisan reports and ratings that have come out have listed Ford - #1...Chevy - #2. We are not professionals in this field...let the pros do their jobs.

Best Regards,

...Deis

Question

Is this "government gravy train" a welfare check ?
Maybe a false disability claim?
Some other scam to beat us hard working taxpayers out of our hard earned cash that could be going to some cool mod for our F150s instead of to some lazy bum.
Who knows?

Cool

Hey Ford-Tough,

Quit picking on Chevys! Just because they are as ugly outside as they are inside and their owners are morons, doesn't give you the right to pick on them. By the way Sweet99, why don't you go post over in the Lightning section. They are looking for some of those Craperados..it's lunch time!

Talking

First of all Happy Thanksgiving to all. Sweet99Chevy, It is entirely possible that I may need an other engine in 30,000 miles, but it is about as likely as a flood event happening like it did last July (26" of rain in 3 days) happening this winter. Your freinds that have Fords that the service department of the dealership they went to is most likely incorrect, the bottom end of the engine is not going out. What was explained to me from a Ford engineer is that the supplyer of the pistons that the triton series engines uses has an extreamly tight tolerance, as does the entire engine. In fact he mentioned that the tolerances in the triton engine series are nearly as tight as those in a Lexus, and more so than in a Mecedes Benz. This supplyer sent a large quantity of pistons to Ford that were from 0.01 to 0.03 of an inch out of spec. That may not seem like much but in a deep skirt engine design it can mean the difference between piston slap and none. And from working at a company that recieves thousands of vendor parts dayly it is impossible to QC every part. Now these pistons were batch built and sent to Ford and inter-mixed with what was already on hand, mostly at the Windsor plant. In March of 99 that stock was finaly used up. According to Ford, they garantee that there triton engines will be piston slap free. This did also effect the v10 as well. A handfull of our customers have had this issue crop up on there units, but again about 1%. Now that I have said that and posted a long letter like post, I would like to commend Sweet99Chevy for posting here, I would also like to say that we (I mean most of us that use F150 Online, and if I'm speeking out of line please let me know) would like to keep this forum to the positive on our trucks an utilize the message board for helping one another, not pointing fingers. Because those who point fingers are not part of any solution to any problem. If you have any questions about your Chevrolet I'm sure that some of us would be happy to help you in your quest toward a solution. I to have freinds that own Chevys, I've worked for a Chevy dealer as well as a Ford dealer. And in the past 5 years I've owned 2 Chevys,1 Toyota,1 Dodge, and now my Ford all purchased brand new. If you have something meaningful to add to our conversations please do, but if you want to taunt people and put them down please refrain. We are all truck owners not a country in a civil war... Sorry agian for the long post.
