I have a 97 f150 4x4 with a 4.6 a while back i tried the gotts mod and lost a ton of gas and whenever i started the engine there would be a loud scratching sound like there was sand in the intake..well i took the mod off and went back to stock scratch sound is still there but not nearly as bad as before..now theres a knock in my engine but idk what it would be..whenever i cold start the truck the knock is fast and loud then goes away but comes back after driving 5-10 minutes and then just gets louder and louder the oil is good and i have no exhaust leaks..any clue what it could be? Should i be worried?

Sounds like it could be a bearing. Better get it checked out by a pro.

 

Gotss mod shouldn't have changed anything internally, sounds like a weird coincedence.

What exactly do you mean you lost a bunch of gas?

 

While it's knocking, pull the PCV valve. Bet that's the prob.

 

Did you lose any tools or bolts?
