anti seize on plugs
anti seize on plugs
I changed my plugs about 2,000 miles ago on my truck, and I replaced them with Motorcraft. I've been reading about plugs being blown out of the engine, or them breaking when removing them. I didn't put any anti seize on them when I installed them.
So should I take them out and put anti seize on them, or just leave them as they are?

Your fine. Motorcrafts are nickle coated and do not need antisieze. In fact, on your engine, it can assist the plugs in backing out till they blow out.

My smelly opinion is that you need to torque them properly and the anti-seize is ok if you do that.
That reminds me. I changed my plugs 10k miles ago and used anti-seize. I plan to check them to see if they are still tight just in case.
And, looking at my new plugs before installing them, it appeared to me that the nickel coating was on the body of the plugs and not the threads.
