PCV elbow

My grandson has his (well, his dad's) 98 F-150 4.6 torn apart today to clean out the EGR passages. I stopped over to drop off some tools and supplies and found the PCV assembly on this didn't have an elbow - it was a straight hose!

Yea , they got rid of the elbow in 99 for the 5fours. There just like your pic on the V8's from what I've seen.

I'm surprised the 98 4six is like that tho, - guess I haven't seen one yet lol.

The 150's with the elbows were the 4.2L's and the 97/98 5.4L's, - that I know of for sure anyway. Not sure how the 4six played out.

My 2000 4.6 Expy is like that. If you pull back the outer insulation there is a regular piece of hose that can be replaced. Mine was bad on the other end and I had to fix it for smog testing.

Now that I think about it I think the tube is hard or semi hard plastic and it takes a small piece of hose at either end..........Dam it sucks to get old, must be the CRS syndrome!

anyway hope that helps........it's one or the other. Haha!
