Doing the sparkplug swap on my 04 ( non heritage) 5.4 3v I came across this just hanging. What is it? Did'nt see a place it was suppose to go.

Dose your front wheels engage when you turn on the 4x4? that looks to me like the 4x4 engaging solenoid looks like it busted in half. Mounts on the firewall next to the starter relay.

Jethat, as he has a 04, if he had a 4wd, it would be does the his front hubs disengage from the axles when in 2wd and engine started. 97-03 and 04 up are completely different as far as front engage/disengage is concerned.

28offroader, It definitely looks like a vacuum line. Anything weird with heat/AC controls?

Besides a/c not being that great, only thing I thought was of is between the 4 fan settings. The fan speed on 1 and 2 have very low pressure....it needs to be on at least 3 to get any cooling out of the system. Switching between 1 to 2 is hardly noticable, switching to 3 is a big difference in blowing force.

No blower except on high is a bad resistor pack. Shouldn't have anything to do with that connector.

But it could be the doors not moving to the proper positions causing all flow to be at the floor. That would be a vacuum problem.

The doors move. It blows air in low all of the way to high, just a big jump between 2 and 3.

Truck runs fine, idles good at about 600rpm, does'nt stall, shifts fine. Does'nt seem to be anything wrong with the truck..., except on startups I get noise and shaking at times for a few seconds untill it builds up oil pressure....(more than likely bad chain tensioner). But other then that it runs great. It just looks like this vacuum line should go somewhere....maybe it does'nt?
