Loctite problem

I have a fan clutch on my 5.4 that was installed with red Loctite and now it wont loosen up and I'm reluctant to use heat because I don't want to damage the water pump seal. Any ideas? Thanks

Red loctite is generally permanent and requires high heat to break it down. I'm scared to ask why "red" loctite was used.

If the fan clutch is BO then a water pump seal getting messed up should be the least of the concern. Get it off! An over heating engine is worse then having to buy a $50 water pump. Jmo

The only way to get it loose is by heating to at least 500 degrees F (as per Loctite website) so there is no way around that. I would definately replace the water pump too when you do get it off and make sure you clean all the red Loctite off before you put it all back together. Hopefully your reason for taking it apart is to replace the fan clutch completely because I can't imagine that much heat will do it any favors either.
