2011 5.0 misfire/surging issue

Hello,

I just purchased a "new to me" 2011 Supercrew 25K miles with the 5 liter in it. It has been a while since I owned a truck, and am definitely digging this truck so far. I noticed what feels like a slight misfire, or surging, when cruising at highway speed At first I thought it was the cruise control compensating to maintain speed, then I disabled cruise and still have the issue. I've searched the board here and could find issues relative to the EcoBoost. I was wondering if anyone had any input or experience similar issues at cruising speeds?

Thanks!

Got almost 60,000 on mine, never had the problem. There is another member that posted today with a similar issue.

Mine did it right after break-in, but in my case, the TSB for the slip yoke service eliminated it.

Take her in to the dealer. She's still under warranty.

My truck seems to have the same problem...

I plan to take it in, in about a week to get aligned. I will have this checked out as well.

Well I have taken my truck back three times now and they have replace 8 coils and 8 spark plugs and now it's skipping worst then it has been! (2013 5.0 with 8000 miles on it)
The bad thing about it is I love the truck!

I finally brought the truck in to get routine service and have the percieved misfiring issu addressed. The service writer advised me the tech could not replicate the issue, although it isnt really an intermittent issue, i feel it every time i am cruising at highway speeds. So they did a pcm update today, i havent had time to take it on the highway yet, but will report back if this was resolved.

I have the same problem with my 2011 5.0L I get it at 35,000km and it was doing the same this then it started missing bad I changed all the spark plugs myself because I was at work and the second plug from the front on the passengers side was covered in gobs of black carbon and it cleared up unless it had a load so I took it in and they changed 7 plugs again and 2 coils and told me to monitor that cylinder, ran like a dream till just the other day it did it again this time I changed the problem plug myself again and nothing it's missing bad and shakes the truck so bad I still shake for awhile after driving it I have it booked for January 8th so let's see what they tell me but I still have to drive it I now have 84,000km on it
