Doing a tensioner/ guide replacement on the 5.4 2v. Forgot to put the key way at 12:00 before removing the tensioner. Immediately put it back on and turned it over a few times with no problem. But could a valve have been bent by removing the tensioner with the engine not in safe mode? I would like to know ASAP before everything goes back together. Thank you.

 

Did same thing on 4.6 broke 2 connecting rods and screwed up my right side head think tensioner was not getting oil. When I took tensioners back off right side was dry. Be careful! Turn engine with breaker bar at least 4 full revolutions per Hayne manual. Building replacement engine now still have to find a head. Good luck!
