I have a 1999 Ford lighting with a 5.4 witha eaton super chager and 71,ooo mile. I'm blow out the spark plus and have had sleeves put in and still blowing one spark plug. I was told that I DONT have to buy hp heads just buy anything above 2005 5.4 heads and this will take care of my problem. I need help because my truck for being a 99 is immaculate in side and out

ps. I was also told when changeing heads, changes timing chains also?

 

I dont know what the ford dealer your using uses as an insert but timesert, the correct fix does NOT fail. I would do a timesert before I yanked the head. installing a timesert repair can be done in an hour.

 

Late 03 they increased the thread count doubled it. went from 4 to 8. Very late 03 really 04. They switched to the 3v in f150's so 2v 5.4 04+ heads arent really easy to come by. The used them in E350's for sure still do I think but not much else..
