Engine ticking sound.
 

Shot in the dark. Engine starting making a ticking sound. I am hold my phone near where the exhaust manifold meet the exhaust pipe. Any ideas....I am hoping exhaust leak.

Your video is not working for me but yes these trucks have poor quality exhaust manifold bolts that rust and break off. Have a look to see if you are missing a bolt head or two and if you are that is most likely your problem.

Make sure you don't have a loose spark plug.

Glc, you nailed it...back passenger side was very loose.....thanks a bunch....did not even think about plugs.

Now you should retorque all your plugs to 28 ft/lb. Loosening and blowout is a common issue with these engines. When they blow out, they will take the threads in the head with them and you will need to install Timesert inserts.

28lbs. ....really....book was I inch/lbs...which I converted over and it came to like 12 lbs...if you 28 I believe you...you save me a lot of work.

Factory recommendation is 14 ft/lb, and that's the main reason for the blowouts.
