4.9 litre 300 6

just wondering what any else is getting for fuel milage and km's per tank. I drive mostly highway miles and get around 410 kms to a tank. to me it seems kind of low.

I had an 87 that got 220 miles on a 19.5 gal tank. It was a STD cab, long bed, auto, w/2:73's. You'll have to do the conversion math.

Cool I6 Mileage

I had a '95 F150 XL, Longbed, 4.9L w/a 5spd trans and 2.73 rearend. Stock 235/75 15 tires and Factory Chrome Rims.

I had a bug deflector, a K&N drop in filter, and a Factory Dynomax Exhaust System, and Heavy Duty Autolite Standard Plugs. I would get 14/19, on a regular basis. If I would drive 75mph, and in fourth gear, I would get almost 21 hiway, on a regular basis.

My reason on the better mileage, would be the 600 RPM's higher, would keep the power band up a lil' more, thus not putting as much drag on the engine.

My 1992 Supercab 2WD short bed 5 spd never got better than 19mpg or worse than 14mpg. Put 130,000 miles on it and was the first owner. Worst mileage was always in the summer w/AC on and trying to accelerate around town. That engine really sucked gas when trying to rev the engine. Shift early if you have a 5 speed.
