I still have the stock gauges hooked up, but I have added four Auto Meter 2 5/8" gauges. A mechanical oil pressure, water temp and vacuum gauge and a volt gauge. My truck is a '95 with a 4.9L (300ci).
Take care,
-Chris

There is no way to conver the oil gauge to a "real" one. Even if you replace the sensor, the needle itself will only show the normal position. There is no resitor to short like the older clusters had.

As for the voltage gauge, it is fully functional. You'll never see it drop unless your alternator goes out. The trucks have BIG alternators and can provide 3 times the current load the truck could possibly use.

Question

Does anyone know of a drop in replacement for the oil press. gauge? Like a kit that comes with a new gauge and a new sending unit.
