Gears, e-fans, exhaust will help shrink that dead spot as they did on mine but you'll never cure it unless boosted imho. Its just something you'll have to live with and don't bother with the 1715 it'll just cause your truck to ping even with 91 octane. Its a small V8 in a truck so keep that in mind.

What setting did you have yours set to? My 1715 has 3 programs, one for 87 octane, one for 91 octane, and one for towing that requires 91 octane. I used the 87 octane setting for my 02 5.4L and I love what it did for my truck and I have not had any pinging with the 87 octane setting using 87 octane.

Of course it is for an unmodified truck. Did you try the program before all the mods or after?
