Foamy yellowish white stuff on oil cap?
Foamy yellowish white stuff on oil cap?

I attached a picture of what it looks like. When I pulled out the oil stick it look clean and normal but on the oil cap where you pour in the oil it has this stuff on it. I do have an oil leak but it wasnt below the safe line when I checked it today, just somewhat low. Any ideas?
if you rarely drive the truck ie not long distances, dont really get it good and hot, that is normal water condensation. if you do drive it everyday on the freeway 100 miles i would say coolant leak.
my truck had the same thing when i bought it. the guy only drove it once a week down the road and back for the few months before i bought it and that is how mine looked. i drive mine a lot now and its just fine

Clean or replace your PCV valve, and make sure the PCV hose isn't collapsed or rotted as that is pretty common. If you want to be sure, just get a new valve and a new piece of hose (you can use regular fuel 3/8" hose). They're cheap.
Either one of those will cause that condensation build up. It's amazing how many people neglect to change the PCV valve.

Thanks for the replies. I started a new job about 3 weeks ago and I now drive about 50 miles per day all together (there and back 50), Monday through Friday. But I haven't noticed any coolant leaking, the level looks the same in the container. I will try to have time to change my oil next weekend and see what it looks like in the bucket.
Seriously, check your PCV valve. It takes just a minute. If you're not losing coolant into the oil, the PCV valve is really the only thing that would cause condensation build up. It's what keeps fresh air flowing through the engine, thus removing moisture.
No. It is a common occurance where there is a lot of humidity. As I stated above, if the oil looks normal, not creamy, he should just wipe it off and keep on truckin.
