Post 5.4 Blues

99 F-150 4x4 5.4 1,800 miles developed a oil leak at 1700 miles, turned out to be head gasket now the leak appears to be fixed but it idles as if it was an old stock car. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

GSS,

Was it realy a HEad gasket or a Valve Cover Gasket? Either way what side was it on?

Regards

My 99 had an oil leak that was dripping on the passenger side manifold. That's why I originally took it to the dealer, then he informed me that they were going to replace my slap-happy engine. Got my new engine installed last week, no leak, no slap.

Cool

I would look/listen for a disconnected vacuum line.
