5.4 to 4.6 parts issue

5.4 to 4.6 parts issue

Okk well my truck lit on fire and I've been looking for parts for it I found a truck with the same year but its a 5.4 and mine is a 4.6 I will be taking things like air sensor and mostly the things around the throttle body that's were I need the parts i think for the most part the parts will work as the same but i wanted so ask soooo I'f yal could help I'd appreciated a lot

A lot of parts, hose routing etc.. All different. The IAC itself will work.

Sooo most of the parts will not work on my 4.6?!?

how did it catch on fire, and did you reslove that isse before you start throwing parts at it

Nope, most won't fit.

It was a bad alternator issue that were the fire originated

Can I use parts from diffrent years like 97-03 as long as they are 4.6L????

Yes

Just about everything.

The 97 -1999 used coil packs ignition systems.

The 2000 + uses COP ignition systems.

The 2001 + models used PI intakes and heads.

The 2002 models had a different DPFE sensor that mounted differently. That was only for the 2002 model year. 2003's used the same mounts, DPFE's as the 2001's and earlier years had.

PCV valve and Cold Climate System had a few hose routing variations.

But other than those differences, they're pretty much the same.
