P0340 P0344 help

Folks, I have searched this up and down and have a couple questions. 05 f-150 3v. I am showing P0340/P0344 and have a clatter/whine from the passenger side of the motor. The clatter/whine goes away when I get on the gas and it goes over 2k rpm then the clatter/whine comes back once the engine isn't accelerating/under a load and is back under 2k rpm. Oil pressure is good, idle is good, power is good. I replaced the cam position sensors and still have the same indications. Is the clatter/whine because the phaser isn't advancing/retarding the timing and the valve train is out of whack? I see people talk about VCt and cleaning them...can anyone elaborate? What is my next step with these indications? Thank you!

As I was tearing the front of the motor down to begin my search for answers I took off the serpentine belt and noticed the tensioner pulley was about to fall off. After a quick r&r action the whine and rattle is gone. Now To figure out why it's throwing the codes...
