Motorcraft Full Synthetic

Hey all,

So to make a long story short its time for an oil change. I have been using Royal Purple 5W-20 since I've had the truck. I'm looking to make a change to a more economical choice. I've been searching the forums and reading for at least the last 2 days and I've seen two recommendations for oil. Amsoil or MC.

So would you all recommend going to MC full synthetic 5W-20? I can get it for $5.49 a QT as opposed to the RP at $9.99 I've been running full synthetic so I'd like to keep it that way instead of going to semi-synthetic.

Thanks everyone.

And if it matters I have a 2001 F150 Screw 4x4 with about 129,000 miles.

I believe they have both a full synthetic and a synthetic blend. I use the blend, for a whole lot less than $5.49 a quart. That is what I would use. It is a good oil, meets specs, and is cheap, especially when bought at places like Wal-Mart. And can be bought in 5 quart bottles.

The MC blend is as good as most synthetics. There's a lot more to an oil than just whether it's synthetic or not.

Find a Wal-Mart. You will probably pay a lot less there, both for oil and filters.
