Screwed up my DPFE....

So there I was unbolting everything to clean my throttle body like I do every couple months. My clumsy butt slipped when I was turning a nut and what do you know the below picture happened...

I finished cleaning everything the put everything together. For sh**s and giggles I wanted to start my truck up to see if that piece really mattered.... Well of course it did! Threw a code of P1401. Looked that up and it led me to DPFE and I went, bought a new one for 50$, then installed it. Truck started up and runs good now.

My big question is will I have any problems because I started my truck with the broken one on still?

My engine made a VERY loud humming noise while it ran for the 10 seconds I had it on. I made a video of that if ya'll want to see/hear it.

You didn't hurt anything. Just clear the code and drive it.

O'Rielly's didn't have a motorcraft one. The one I got has a lifetime warranty though.

Thanks glc, always helpful.

Huh, surprised, I get most my Motorcraft parts from O'Riellys or online @ Rock. Tasca as well, for those hard to find parts. Gotta hate that, attempt fixing one thing and breaking another in the process lol. I know I do.

Yeah, I was really surprised about that also. They always have all the motorcraft parts I need. I didn't feel like driving to advance or autozone.

I think the bigger question is why you feel the need to clean your TB every couple of months. You must be living the life of Riley.

Why not? I'm getting 17-18mpg in a 5.4L V8 SCREW. I must be doing something right. There are things I do a few times a year and that is one of them. As for living the life of Riley... a can of TB cleaner only costs 6$ and lasts 3-4 cleanings.

That's Great! It does help allot.

If you polish it, -it will stay clean.

Hell, I even knifed the intake, then polished, -

I've only gottin 16 mpg, but consistently and it doesn't seem to vary.

Now if you want to get a little crazy, - take the trans apart and clean it lol. Top of the pic, -

No, I didn't get better mpg's... I think? However, -that trans has 333,000 miles on it. Actually, 340,000 lol.
