Lube oil specifications

I recently acquired an '06, 5.4L F150 and am a bit confused on the lube oil. I understand that the recommendation is 5-20, and that's a bit scary. But I'm uncertain on the rest. Semi-synthetic, Dino oil? What are most of you folks using? Thanks in advance.

It's a 5.4 3v use the weight what's recommend on the cap.....either motorcraft semi syn or penzoil....along with a motorcraft oil filter....

Penzoil

That's one of the problems. I can't buy 5-20 Penzoil around here in anything other than quarts. NAPA, Shuck's & Oriellies only have quarts available. No one stocks gallons or larger.

Yeah, but I'm cheap. It cost 50 cents more per quart if purchased in quarts. Plus, it's a storage problem.
Back to the original question. Semi-synthetic or not?
Thanks.

Do you have a Walmart around there? They carry the Motorcraft semi-synthetic in gallons and quarts. That's the best oil for that engine and it's cheap. They should also have the FL-820S filters, again, the best for the engine.

All kidding aside, go with what glc said. Motorcraft semi-synth oil and filter.

LKG907 being cheap about the oil and these 3V motors don't mix. Buck up spend the extra coin. Like every one else said, get the Motorcraft semi-synth oil and Motorcraft filter.
