engine removal
engine removal
anybody pull the engine out of a 1997 or newer f150? how did you do it? any tips, hints or cheats greatly appreciated. i'll be using a haynes manual so i will obviously need all the extra info i can get! the engines are tucked so far back in there... everything is packed and packaged so as to intimidated a decent shadetree mech like myself. how in the world do you get to the engine to bellhousing bolts!!??
pull the tranny too!!?? mine is a 4x4. does that mean i have to pull the tran case as well? damn i thought it too tight to just pull an engine, but to try to pull the tranny at the same time.... i'm gonna need more help fellas!! does the front end come off the truck easily? be easier to take the fron off than to tilt an dance with the engine hoist all day. i need help!!
Although I have a Superduty, this may help. When Ford replaced my V10, they took it straight out the front. Didn't remove the hood at all. They took out the grill, support, rad etc. You should be able to get to the bellhousing bolts from underneath, long extensions and swivels.... Prolly some swear words too..
