Engine Failsafe Mode

Here in the last month bout once a week I go to crank my 05 with 108k miles and it will say engine failsafe mode. I turn the key off and turn it back on and it's fine. It only threw one code which was a overev code which I haven't done. Does anybody know what's going on? It seems to be getting more frequent.

Has the throttle body ever been cleaned? If not, that would be the first thing I did.

It may not solve your problem, but you won't be wasting your time cleaning the TB and MAF. They need it with those miles.

That is the code I got when my throttle body needed cleaning. I was driving in town when it suddenly died. Would not restart. Pulled over, read the code, said it was the throttle actuator. let it set about 5 minutes, started up and drove home acting normal. I got online and read where that is what you get when it is really the dirty throttle body that is causing the actuator to mess up. Had the TB cleaned, that was at 102,000 miles. Had 135,000 on her with no more problems, when I sold her.

You have a OBD problem. I assume you cleared the codes and reset the puter? Check to see what your I/M tests are saying. Either change the throttle body out/double check the accelerator/look closely to see if it is going into FMEM due to an injector leak. Believe you are developing a pending code and when it codes it kills it.
