poor mpg 2005 5.4L

my F150 is only getting about 12-13 mpg even with me barely stepping on the gas pedal. I've done the Gotts mod and installed an Amzoil Ea filter, changed the fuel filter and keep up with frequent oil changes. I've got just over 85k miles on it. Will adding and Edge Evolution programmer help, or just changing the plugs improve the MPG.

Start with new plugs, clean the Throttle Body, Clean the MAF to start with. Check the 'How To' section for some good info on these procedures. Run some Techron' fuel/injector cleaner for a couple of tanks to loosen up the carbon on the plugs and follow the TSB for removal. Your mpg isn't that far out of the park, I think these few items will help greatly...Good Luck and have the Lisle tool handy.

My 2005 with the 5.4 has been getting aound 16.5 lately as I do mostly highway driving now. It is a 4x2 with 355 gears reg cab. Also have little over 100k on it.
