2006 5.4 Ticking/Tapping Issue

Hello, I have a 2006 5.4L F150 with 85,000 miles on it. I started it up one day and a ticking/tapping noise started happening at idle and when driving. I had an oil change and Goodyear's 14 point inspection about 200 miles before this started happening. I was good to go. I took it back to Goodyear and they changed the oil and added an oil additive as they thought it was maybe a sticky valve. Since then I have taken it to the Ford dealer ship; they put it on a diagnosis machine and said the 1st and 3rd injectors needed to be replaced AND I need a new engine. They said they could hear a knocking underneath the engine. I cannot hear any knocking. They did not tear all the way into it and basically said sell it or get a replacement engine...$6000. I've taken it to several independent mechanics; one said he thought it was the fourth cylinder another from just listening to the engine felt like it was the valves. I called another Ford dealership from another state where I maybe moving soon and explained over the phone what was going on and he felt it maybe the cam phasers, timing chain and valve lifters but he would of course have to see it, etc..... Oil pressure is fine, truck runs fine, no stalls or lack of power and no shaking, etc.... However I have only put about a hundred miles on the truck since this all began. I would appreciate any advice-thoughts you all could give on my situation. Thank you

Change the oil again, use 5W20 Motorcraft semi-synthetic and a Motorcraft FL820S filter, do not use any additives, and run it till it dies.

Thanks for the information. I will do that. Do you have any idea how many more miles I might get before total failure? I guess I will know when the end is coming when other noises, shaking rattling, etc occur that total failure has begun ???
My truck has been babied since day one and with oil changes every three thousand miles.
I appreciate your response,
Kevin

If it's phasers, it will run indefinitely, it's just annoying.

If it has bad injectors, it would be wise to replace them.
