Coil on plug

Had misfire code, pulled out coil to no. 2 cylinder and it had oil on it. How does oil get in cylinder well?

Is it near where the oil is poured in? Better check to make sure the plug is torqed down, make sure it is not loose. What engine and year?

Leaky valve cover seals, usually.

It's a 2001 super crew 5.4 liter. Oil wasn't in the cylinder, in the plug well. All over coil boot. Made coil misfire.

Your engine is very prone to the sparkplug getting loose and blowing out. If it was loose, oil and fuel could be forced up on the boot. Probably not it, but worth a mention.

I think your right. Can I tighten the valve cover? Is the gasket going to get worse and oil gonna get into no. 1 & 3 cylinder.

Not a problem, we welcome all new members and navigating around can be confusing at first. The main reason I moved you was so maybe more engine guys would see your post and have input.

If it's a gasket leaking, tightening it may reduce the leak, but once it starts leaking, my experience has been that it ends up needing replacement.

The cam (valve) cover gaskets that come stock on these engines are really heavy duty they rarely fail. Plus in order for oil to leak from the cam cover to the plug hole it has to run up hill. Its unlikely the cam cove is the source. I would go ahead and tighten the cam cover bolts but I think you'll find the source is something else.
