Engine Coolant & Maintenance Manuel
Hi everybodey!
Got a question regarding the life of the Ford Premium Engine Coolant. In the 1997 brochure it said coolant is designed to last 5years/160000km(100000mi). In my 1999 owners manuel it says not to use any long life coolant and only above Ford Premuium. What is the life span of that coolant? Did you guys get a seperate maintenace manuel with your owners manuel, because the owners manuel refers to this for time and mileage intervals on any service related topic? I only got a dealer pamphlet with their! basic recommendations for service. What is the Ford factory recommended oil change interval?
Thanks for any info!

Not sure about Ford's recommendations, but is has always been a good idea (and cheap insurance) to do a drain and refill each year or 12,000 miles. Remember, Ford wants to keep selling you a new truck every few years and I've been a little skeptical of some of their recommendations. I used to have an 85 Thunderbird Turbo coupe, and the manual said to do an oil change every 7,000 miles under normal conditions. No wonder so many of those cars burned up the turbos!
